What's My Secret?

Have you ever wondered what I use to breathe new life into old memories?

I use a high resolution scanner, a computer, and Adobe Photoshop.

Scanning the images at a high resolution gives me finer control over the details from the original image. Photoshop has been one of my favorite computer programs since I took a class on it back in the fall of 2000. It's hard to believe I have been using it for almost 21 years now.

Each photo project uses a combination of tools and techniques to restore it to its original glory.

What can I restore for you?

From Creased to Crisp

I am finally back in the studio after taking some time off to deal with a family health crisis. There will still be numerous doctor visits, but at least my husband is no longer hospitalized. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

The following restoration was a labor of love that I completed a number of years ago. I am sharing now because it is the only photo of my in-laws on their wedding day, which took place in April 1946.

The much-loved original photo had numerous cracks and was very faded. It went from creased to crisp.  Their love story will now be around for future generations to see and cherish.

From dull to delightful

Some memories fade over time, but it is an absolute joy to see photos come back to life.

This adorable boy's picture went from dull to delightful. His family can treasure this piece of history for years to come.

From Faded to Fabulous

The original photo was faded and had a reddish colorcast that muddied the colors.

Now it has been restored to its original glory. It went from faded to fabulous!

It's a barrow of fun

I'm pretty happy with how this latest restoration turned out.

The little boy was certainly having fun sitting in the wheel barrow.

Looking back at 1971

I love bringing back the color to photos that have fallen victim to the ravages of time. After so many decades, pictures can take on a yellowish or reddish colorcast, which taints the look of the original photo.

Not only was I able to bring back the colors, but was able to sharpen some of the details as well. I'm very happy with this project.

Do you have any photos that we can restore for you?

It's been a while

Sorry it has been so long since I have shared anything, but my kidney issues have made it difficult for me to spend much time in the studio....
